2025 Salvation Army Feed the Homeless Outreach Project

Pace members: Dr. Cecilia Smith, Princella Wilson, Martha McConnell, Debra Callaway, rachel Lewis, and Jo Gardner volunteered at the Carr P. Collins Salvation Army center on Saturday, October 26, 2024. We served lunch for 125 homeless. We also prepared 225 sandwiches. 

  • We served meals to 4 residential groups: Women’s Domestic Abuse, Substance Abuse, Men’s General Homelessness, and Veterans.

  • The North Texas Chapter of the Salvation Army serves 80,000 people each year. through their 17 centers of operation which include 4 shelters, 3 recovery programs, and 12 food pantries.

  • Carr P. Collins is the largest SA social service center in the world.

  • CPC can house up to 600 people; 400 people are staying at CPC on any given night.

  • A 21 acre campus is expected to be completed by 2027.

  • The new campus will include: health services, legal aid, case management, benefits enrollment, homeless prevention services, choice food pantry, child care, mental health clinic, medical and dental clinics, vocational training, a recreation center, and a dog kennel.
